I find it amazing that, after the obscene incident at the Waterloo Chapters store and the growing number like it in this country, that the focus of attention could shift from the attack on Howard Rotberg to some third party who was posting a comment about the attack. It is as if you are being threatened by alligators and your biggest concern is a few mosquitos.
I have no idea who this employee was, but the events as conveyed by Howard have certainly been corroborated by independent witnesses. A racist attack took place - driven by the same mindless hatred that slaughtered kids in an Israeli pizza joint and celebrated in the streets afterwards. That massacre was the subject matter of Howard's book and, clearly, that was the event that these attackers did not want criticized.
And what was done to the attackers? Nothing? In fact, the victim of the attack was, in the spirt of Canadian moral equivalency, held equally culpable.
It's time we all focused on what is happening in this country, even if we offend a few PC sensibilities.
