Re: AdBusters' Creepy Campaign, Martin Patriquin, Aug. 4.
Kale Lasn's claim that his listing of Jews in George Bush's circle of
advisors was not intended to be anti-semitic is profoundly
hypocritical.
Perhaps Mr. Lasn might explain precisely why it disturbs him that Jews
are in the Bush circle or that they own CanWest. Surely it wouldn't be
those old canards about Jews trying to rule the world or Jews controlling
the media, now, would it?
Is Mr. Lasn planning to sound an alarm about the number of blacks and
Hispanics who are Mr. Bush's advisors? May we expect an expose on the
ownership of the Sun Media by French Canadians, with the implicit
suggestion that all French Canadians have an insidious agenda to break up
Canada?
Perhaps Mr. Lasn feels that there should be quotas on the number of
Jews in politics or who may own media. If anyone should be prohibited from
being a media boss, it's him.
