The last media report I heard stated Rantisi's
replacement would remain unnamed and hidden so as
to avoid (delay?) Rantisi's fate.
This whole excercise, in my view, takes on the
overtones of "sport", like small schoolboys playing a
game of "War".
It seems to me that Palestinian tactics, including
converting their children into ambulatory grenades,
reflect not what they are fighting for but simply
what they have become.
What they have become is neither the fault of the
West nor of Israel. What they have become followed
a chosen, strategic path. If this was a real war
to be won, perhaps the Palestinians would study
and learn about the enemy's weaknesses & frailities.
Had they done so, they would realize Israel will
not yield to terrorists. A change in tactics might
seem prudent. But no. How can we not conclude it's
not so much a fight as a way of life?
