In Reply to: PETTIGREW URGES ISRAEL TO ABANDON PLAN TO EXPAND WEST BANK SETTL posted by Gov't of Canada
Funny that Pettigrew should again decide that Israeli homes are worthy of his condemnation. In a region in which Syrians slaughtered the Lebanese opposition, Syrians are setting off bombs in Christian neighbourhoods in Lebanon, terrorists in Iraq are showing up by the dozens with Syrian identification cards, kids are murdered in a nightclub in Israel, Egypt is enforcing a de facto Aparthied against non-Muslim citizens -- with all this horror going on, our Foreign Minister picks this issue for another of his impotent condemnations. And our Prime Minister refers to the Syrian occupiers as "peacekeepers".
Pettigrew's choice of issues to highlight, country to condemn, and tyrants to coddle is a clear reflection of how Canada is as qualified as Iran to play any role in a Middle East peace process. Canada should mind its own business in the Middle East, as it has proven itself incapable of any rational or ethical contribution to the region.
