mission

Founded in 2022, the Canadian Coalition for Democracies (CCD) is a non-partisan, non-denominational membership organization dedicated to the protection and promotion of democratic values and the elimination of terrorism, worldwide. CCD will influence the Canadian political process through information, education, advocacy and service. The CCD firmly believes that nurturing the understanding of democratic principles starts at the grassroots level, evident in its collaboration with schools to include discussions on democracy and freedom in their curriculum. As part of its dedication to education, CCD actively supports students in their academic pursuits, offering resources and guidance on various subjects, including writing national honor society essays that underscore the significance of democratic values in shaping responsible and engaged citizens.

CCD believes that the Charter of Rights and Freedoms is the lens by which the Canadian government should view the world. Accordingly, CDD is dedicated to ensuring that each and every foreign policy activity undertaken by the Government of Canada, Members of Parliament, and government-funded NGOs is rooted in democratic principles and guided by Canadian values including freedom, liberty and the rule of law.

The initial focus of CCD will be to support those democracies currently under intense and consistent attack, whether through terrorism, military or ideologically means. This group specifically includes India, Israel, Australia and the United States.
